Dr. Scott C. Richards specializes in retinal diseases and surgery, and brings his years of expertise along with his compassionate understanding for patients to The Retinal Institute. He is not only technically proficient in the diagnosis of vitreoretinal diseases but is at the forefront in his treatment of retinal disease.
Scott C. Richards, M.D. graduated from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. While there, he served as Chief Resident for the ophthalmology department. He has also completed an ophthalmic pathology Fellowship with Dr. David Apple at the University of Utah, as well as a vitreoretinal Fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C. Dr. Richards has an interest in clinical research and has published over 20 papers in peer-reviewed ophthalmologic journals and has been in private practice for 20 years.
